ART COMPETITION
Showcase your artistic skills at our SANDBOX FANDOM FESTIVAL Art Competition!
We welcome artists of all ages who are inspired by Anime, Manga, Cartoon, Comic, and Game character design.
Create your own character themed artwork and submit it to one of our two categories:
1. FAN ART, featuring characters from existing franchises
2. ORIGINAL CHARACTER DESIGN, showcasing your very own character design.
Rules

Artwork must be original creations by the submitting artist.

Only traditional art forms are allowed, including drawings, paintings, digital art, collages, and sculptures. No photo manipulation, AI-generated art, or photography.

The person submitting the artwork must be its creator. Tracing or recoloring another person's art is not allowed.

Only completed works are eligible for entry. Sketches are allowed if they are refined.

Artwork size should not exceed A3.
For judging purposes, we will have a YOUTH category (18 years and under) and an ADULT category (19 years and up) sections.
IMPORTANT
ARTWORK need to be dropped off to Forum North on Friday the 22nd September between 10am-5pm
Winner will be announced at the event on the main stage Saturday 23rd September. See updates on our website and facebook page for announcement times.
Artwork can be taken home at the end of the Sandbox fandom festival 3pm Saturday 23rd September. If you cannot take your art home then, please get in touch with Clark to arrange a pick up time.

Literally build your own world!
Let your imagination run wild as you design and build your own unique environment. Whether you want to create a post-apocalyptic wasteland, a lush fantasy kingdom, or the interior of a Neo-noir Spaceship - the possibilities are endless.
This competition is open to all ages and skill levels. The more you have built from scratch the better, so whether you're a seasoned diorama builder or just starting out, we love to see your scene.
Age Categories 13yrs and under
14 -18yrs
19yrs+
* in the unlikely event that we have ≤ 2 entries in a category, they will be placed in the next closest age category.

Open to artists under 24yrs
Are you a young artist with a passion for comics and manga? Our Create A Comic/Manga Competition is the perfect opportunity for you to showcase your skills and artistry!
Whether you want to create fanfiction or have an original story, we want to see your creativity and visual storytelling skills shine in a short comic/manga format.
So, grab your pens and pencils, and start drawing, writing, and bringing your ideas to life!
The only requirement is that your story must be in a short comic/manga format -
It can just be 1 page…. but no more than 8 pages long please.

Accordion and folded Comic/Manga are very welcome.
